About

Hello and welcome!

I'm Kat, a ceramicist based in Lisbon, where I create in my studio at an artist collective called Fabrica Moderna.

My work is primarily inspired by the natural world, especially the vast animal kingdom. Growing up in Poland’s beautiful Masurian Lake District, I was surrounded by forests and lakes that formed a vibrant union of life and wonder. Later, I spent a significant part of my life in Ireland, a country I love deeply for its natural beauty and warm-hearted people.

My current work spans from joyful, light-hearted pieces depicting animals to more introspective creations that explore the emotional lives of animals.

Before committing fully to ceramics, I worked as a 3D modeler in animation and VFX production, where I was first introduced to ZBrush. Along the way, I discovered my love for traditional sculpture, inspired by my mentor Alan Clarke—an Irish sculptor and member of the prestigious Society of Portrait Sculptors.

In addition to creating my own work, I lead workshops in ceramics and other crafts, aiming to connect people through creativity and the shared experience of making art.

My skills include drawing, sculpture, mold-making, 3D design, and modeling. Alongside my ceramic work, I have also explored various mixed-media projects.
